In ancient Greece, parsley was used in winning athletes wreaths, believing that the god Hercules used parsley in his garlands.  The Greeks also believed that giving parsley to their prized horses would improve their stamina and help them win races.  Parsley is also said to repel head lice and attract rabbits.
