Tomatillo

DIG THIS!   about Tomatillo:

Tomatillo is a self-incompatible plant, almost always requiring 2 plants to produce fruit.  Only the fruits are edible on the plant, other parts can be toxic!  The tomatillo dates back to pre-Columbian times and is native to Mexico.  The tight-fitting husk will turn light brown when they are ready to harvest.  Use in all green sauces, cut up on tacos and other dishes, or roast and peel for a different taste.  Wash your hands with soap and water after removing the husks.
